Frequently Asked Questions
At Inspire, we take an at home sleep study approach. Most patients prefer to undergo testing in the comfort of their own home, and tend to sleep easier and more comfortably when in their own bed. If a sleep study is recommended, we will send you home with a home sleep study device.
If an overnight sleep study is needed to get more accurate results because of medical conditions, we use an upscale location at the corner of Legacy Drive and Warren Parkway.
No! Our at home sleep studies do not use masks or any other sensors on the face, or any belts around the chest or abdomen. Most patients are able to sleep just as comfortably as normal during the test.
Sleep studies allow your doctor to monitor what is happening in your brain and body while you sleep. More specifically, the sleep test we use measures 7 channels including: PAT (Peripheral Arterial Tone) signal, heart rate, oximetry, actigraphy, body position, snoring, and chest motion.
Sleep studies can help your doctor diagnose sleep disorders and assist in identifying the cause of your symptoms. Common sleep disorders diagnosed after a sleep study include Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Sleep Apnea.
Most at home sleep studies are performed over 1-2 nights, depending on patient preference and sleep specialist recommendation.
